NO FCRA USE. Wharton County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with a local, Texas, or federal government body. Neither this website nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions, or for any other use regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.
1. What This Website Is
This is a private reference site with no government connection. It does not store official criminal records, perform official background checks, retrieve records on demand, or file papers for a visitor.
The content points to the Wharton County Sheriff, the County and District Clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Government records remain subject to the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, its exceptions, and other law. State criminal-history dissemination is governed by Government Code Chapter 411. Those statutes do not make this private site a records custodian.
2. Rules for Using This Site
By using the site, a visitor agrees not to:
- Use site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
- Attempt to enter systems or data without authorization
- Use information to stalk, threaten, or harass another person
- Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
- Interfere with site speed, availability, or another visitor's access
- Violate any applicable local, Texas, or federal law
3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
No one may use information found here or through a linked tool to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or discriminate against a person. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. Texas Public Sex Offender Registry data is provided for lawful safety awareness. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 does not authorize vigilantism, harassment, threats, or unlawful discrimination against a registrant.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
Wharton County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not prepare consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Its advertising partners are not presented as services for FCRA-regulated screening. Site or linked-tool data must not be used to:
- Set an insurance premium or assess creditworthiness
- Evaluate an applicant for housing
- Make an employment decision
- Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
- Carry out any other purpose regulated by the FCRA
A legally permissible official check must come through the Texas Department of Public Safety or another provider that complies with every law governing the intended use.
5. No Legal Advice
Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Wharton County charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule affects a specific person. Individual guidance must come from a licensed Texas attorney.
6. No Warranties
All content and services are supplied "as is." No promise is made that:
- Outside search results are accurate or complete
- The website will remain available without interruption
- Every detail is complete, current, and correct
- The pages contain no bug, error, or security weakness
A criminal record may change when a charge is filed or dismissed, or when a court grants expunction or nondisclosure. Gaps and delays can occur. Nothing published here is an official statement by the Wharton County Sheriff, a court, a clerk, DPS, or any other agency.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Links may lead to sheriff and clerk pages, court portals, Texas agencies, legal aid organizations, or outside search services. The destination is independent and outside this site's control. Wharton County Criminal History is not responsible for its price, privacy practices, accuracy, content, or continued availability. The destination's own terms govern its use.
8. Intellectual Property
Unless another owner is identified, the text, graphics, logo, and code belong to Wharton County Criminal History or its content partners. A visitor may not copy, alter, distribute, or create derivative material from that content without prior written permission.
9. Limits on Our Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is not liable for loss or damage arising from its use, including reliance on information obtained here or through a linked service.

A visitor agrees to indemnify and hold the site harmless from claims, demands, and proceedings caused by that visitor's use of the website or violation of these terms, including related legal costs and fees.
